Our goal is to return to communities and nature, an amount of water equal to what we use in all our drinks and their production.

Returning what we use

Within 20 years, two-thirds of the world’s population could be facing severe water shortages. This means that improving water quality and availability is vital to our business and the communities we serve. This belief is what drives our water stewardship commitment and our focus on reducing, recycling and replenishing.

Water is a set resource.

Water will always be important to our Company and we are continually working to reduce our impact and minimise our water use. Our global goal is to improve our water efficiency by 20% by 2012 compared with a 2004 baseline. In Australia we’ve been working with Coca-Cola Amatil for many years to ensure that we continue to improve the water efficiency of our plants and operations.

Water’s nature is to return to its source.

Our goal is to ensure through comprehensive waste water treatment, the water we use in our manufacturing processes will be returned to the environment at a quality level that supports aquatic life. This ongoing water recycling effort is critical to preserving local water resources and inspiring others to take similar steps.

Water is life’s essence.

On a global basis we are expanding our support of healthy water catchments^* and sustainable community water programmes to balance the water use in our finished products. In Australia, the world's driest inhabited continent, we are working hard to ensure our use of water resources is sustainable.
